Description:

Access one-on-one academic support during the summer in DSC’s Learning Academy summer service.  DSC’s tutoring sessions provide direct academic intervention to students with Down syndrome. Tutoring sessions vary based on student strengths and needs while applying specific strategies, resources, and activities. Tutoring sessions include personalized learning materials to support participants during academics focused on Individualized Education Plan related goals, homework, and/or focused academic skills.

Spring:

There are 15 sessions total in Semester 2. Specific weeks for sessions (excluding makeup weeks) include the weeks of: 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/26, 6/1, 6/8.

Summer:

• Weeks of July 6, 13, 20 

• 3 weeks, 3 days per week for a total of 9 sessions. Sessions take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

• 45 mins per session

Age range:

5-18 years. Tutoring sessions are 45 minutes for 5–7-year-olds and 1-hour in duration for 8+ year olds.
